Wood Man's Stage is the heart of deciduous forest, as one would expect. The stage has an organic layout, and fights will take place everywhere from open fields into a constricted cave. The weapons here tend to deal with natural elements, or logging in the case of the Rolling Cutter. The water in its cave area is also one of the few instances in Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch where tiles were borrowed from another stage's tileset, as Wood Man's level in Mega Man 2 had no water. Along the northern edge of the level, a flock of Atomic Chickens periodically runs by.

Wood Man's stage is also one of three stages in the first release of Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch created by someone other than CutmanMike. Wood Man and Flame Man's stages were created by DoomThroughDoom while Yamato Man's stage was created by Mr. X.

Wood Man's stage is a series of fields surrounding a tall plateau with Rolling Cutter. Air Shooter is found in the center of a long field field in the west part of the map which also contains a W-Tank in a nook to the north. Thunder Bolt and Search Snake lie on other fields surrounding the Rolling Cutter. Slash Claw lies on an outcrop in this area's northeast corner while Leaf Shield and Needle Cannon rest on a ledge overlooking the Air Shooter field.

A subterranean stream runs the length of a cave with many entrances that takes up the map's southern half. Bubble Lead and a hidden E-Tank in a small alcove mark the source of the stream at the west end, while Noise Crush is located in a nook at the other end. Drill Bomb, another Needle Cannon and Fire Storm are found in between.

The Yashichi is located along the top of the stage between the entrances to the cave

With its variety of terrain types, no one tactic is ideal for Wood Man's stage. In the open areas, rely on a combination of Air Shooter and Needle Cannon to keep foes with Slash Claw and Fire Storm at a distance. When in the cave, you can rack up frags by flooding the area with the Bubble Lead or Search Snake. This would also be a great time to heal via the hidden E-Tank. Finally, make sure to grab the easily available Leaf Shield every once in awhile. It will protect you from most of the weapons of the stage, especially the devastating Air Shooter. Just watch out for Rolling Cutter and Fire Storm users in the eastern half of the map!

V1 to V2

Replaced Power Stone with Slash Claw in the eastern cave entrance.

V3A to V3B

"Aired Out" the map layout, switched several weapon locations and added Noise Crush, Drill Bomb and Thunder Bolt. Brightened the stage's palette. Added a new way to the cave (by Cutstuff user Ivory).
