Run rings around your opponents...literally!
|Music||Mega Man 4 - Ring Man Stage|
|Based on||Mega Man 4|
Ring Man's Stage is, appropriately enough, a giant ring. Inappropriately perhaps, the terrain is mostly composed of striped glass, in which machinery can be seen. Similar to the later areas of his stage in Mega Man 4, the map also takes place at night, or in space. Despite this, gravity is normal, making it difficult to climb the many tall pillars scattered throughout the map, some of which have pickups. As one could presume, the Weapons here are of a wide variety and have no theme whatsoever. Notable however, is one of the few appearances of Astro Crush.
Ring Man's Stage is composed of a wide outer ring and an interior section divided into four distinct quarters around a central bottomless pit. Thunder Claw and Flash Bomb are found twice in opposite corners of the outer ring. Fire Storm is located near both Thunder Claws on the two lower quadrants of the inner section. From here, you can climb to the upper two inner areas which both house Ring Boomerang. Another way to get to these places is to climb some stairs near the Flash Bombs.
The pillars of the Fire Storm area can be jumped to from the upper quarters to obtain Yamato Spear and Pharaoh Shot. A taller pillar in this area supporting the Rush Jet can only be accessed by a tricky Thunder Claw swing with the pegs hanging over the center pit. Finally, another pillar by the Flash Bomb in the outer ring holds the Astro Crush. The only way to get it is by Rush Jet, naturally. As with the other weapons on the map, this layout is mirrored on the other side of the level.
Maintaining a firm hold on the higher areas of the map is important if you don't want to be surprised by crowds roving the outer ring. The Large Health Capsules hidden in nooks there will also be a valuable source of recovery. Flash Bomb and Pharaoh Shot both work wonderfully at defending the ledges that lead to these areas. From this vantage point, launch attacks on crowds with the ripping Yamato Spear and Ring Boomerang. If someone's already up there, you can usually sneak up on them from the stairs near the Flash Bomb.
If you happen to be good with Thunder Claw swinging however, you can disregard the above and just continuously rain death upon everybody with the Astro Crush from the safety of Rush Jet. Just remember to grab a new one every so often!
V2 to V3
The map was completely replaced. Before, the level was a simple track with some ledges around a much larger hole in the center. Almost no weapons were carried over from this version. In fact, the only similarities were the presence of Rush Jet and the tall pillars topped by items.
