It's a complete meltdown!

Melting Metal is MM8BDM's third Capture The Flag map, set in a frantic industrial area brimming with pools of molten slag. The tilesets here mainly come from factory-type stages like Spark Man and fire-themed levels like Fire Man. To fit with this metal on flame scheme, most weapons here are either ripping cutter types like the Metal Blade or fire based like the Fire Storm, although there are a few outliers, including Water Balloon. No matter what the weapon though, try to avoid getting caught on this stage's many narrow tunnels and catwalks!
The flags on Melting Metal are situated on a high ledge in the center of each team's base, only accessible by a path in back of them with Bubble Lead. To either side of the flag, Metal Blade is found alongside rooms with Gyro Attack. The stage then opens up to the exterior portion of a rectangular ring surrounding a lava pool holding Yamato Spear and Fire Storm.
To both sides of the Fire Storms, the platforms in the lava lead to rooms with Napalm Bomb. A narrow passage protected by the Fire traps from Fire Man's Stage with a W-Tank connects back to the Gyro Attack room and twin passages in the other direction lead to a center room with Flame Sword. The tunnels surrounding the Flame Sword also contain all the map's items: Bass Buster, Item-1, Tango Roll and another W-Tank. These passages aren't the only way to the other half of the map though! Platforms in the center of the molten lake allow passage and support Water Balloon and Rolling Cutter.
With so many narrow walkways, the Rolling Cutter and Metal Blade are the weapons of choice for skirmishes outside the bases. The speed or Fire Storm and Water Balloon may also surprise you, so use them when you aren't on a direct line of fire with a foe.
In the bases themselves, take advantage of the height difference to pelt invaders with Napalm Bomb and Bubble Lead through the back entrance. While on offense, you'll probably want to just use Item-1 to climb the the flag and bypass the choke point with Bubble Lead altogether. On your way back, be sure to take the less-used route through the Napalm Bomb room!
