Hard Man's Stage is a rather basic map set in a rock quarry similar to the mines of Guts Man's Stage. It has a relatively basic layout, and finding weapons or foes will never be a problem. The weapon selection here mostly consists of power Weapons, naturally, so good aim and timing are necessary for victory here. Because of this, matches on Hard Man's stage usually aren't overly chaotic despite the small size of the map.

In Version 5, beating the level results in a rematch against Mega Man?.

Layout

The main feature of Hard Man's stage is its central pit area containing Junk Shield in its center and Pharaoh Shot near the south. A ladder to the east of this area leads to a Super Arm and a walkway surrounding the southern edge of the pit. Power Stone lies at the end of this walkway to the west, directly above Gemini Laser on the lower level. Two narrow pillars flank this area as well, one of which is topped by a W-Tank obtainable via Mega Ball jump.

To the north of this spot a staircase leads to a series of passages elevated above the pit. Here you can find the Proto Buster, Hard Knuckle and Bubble Lead and several points overlooking the main pit. In the northeast corner of these tunnels, there is an exposed outdoor area with the Mega Ball. There is also a series of ledges around the corner of this area, but they are normally inaccessible.

Strategy

The easily obtainable Hard Knuckle, Proto Buster and Pharaoh Shot should be your mainstays on Hard Man's Stage, assuming you can consistently land shots. If you must stay back from the main battle, Bubble Lead and Super Arm are excellent distance weapons to use with a height advantage. Power Stone and Junk Shield can devastate unaware opponents utilizing this strategy, but are mostly ineffective against aware adversaries in the pit. Just keep your wits about you and Hard Man will be over easy.

Modifications

V1 to V2

Added Junk Shield to the center pit and moved Power Stone to an upper level to prevent it from being so easily accessed.

V2 to V3

Replaced Wild Coil in the northeast corner with Mega Ball.
