Flame Man's Stage is an Arabian temple built in and around a subterranean oil refinery. You'll see Middle-Eastern architecture right alongside oil-processing machinery. It is very small and constricted and there are many ways to travel about its passages. To fit with this combat, most Weapons here are heavy-hitting and close-range.

Like in Flame Man's stage in Mega Man 6, there are parts of the stage where the floor is covered in oil. If the oil is hit with any fire weapon, although the only one on the stage normally is Flame Blast, it will ignite. Unlike the oil of Oil Man's Stage though, the resulting flames will kill any player instantly. Once they subside, the oil immediately reappears instead of having a cooldown period as well.

Flame Man's stage is also one of the four Deathmatch stages in the V2 release of Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch that was not created by CutmanMike, this map being DoomThroughDoom. The other three are Wood Man's by DoomThroughDoom, Yamato Man's by Mr. X and Junk Man's by Ivory.

Layout

The temple prtion to the east end of Flame Man's stage has the Silver Tomahawk and Air Shooter just lying about. The large L-shaped oil pit nearby holds an E-Tank on a raised island. Try not to get trapped on it! From here to the southwest, you can climb a stack of boxes to a pillar hiding the Shadow Blade. Don't forget about the Item-1 hidden among these boxes either.

The middle of Flame Man's stage is taken up by a smaller oil pit with another E-Tank hidden in it. Bass Buster also rests on a ledge above it and Shadow Blade is found on a platform near the temple area to the east. On the other side, you'll encounter the cave area and a Teleporter that takes you to an alcove above the other oil pit with Flame Blast.

Continuing to the right at the teleporter instead leads through a cave passage containing Bubble Lead, and another Silver Tomahawk and Air Shooter. Eventually, you'll end up at a room overlooking the temple portion with two W-Tanks, Tango Roll, Gemini Laser and Hard Knuckle.

Flameman's Yashichi is located near the ceiling in the corner of the stage containing an E-Tank

Strategy

On a stage like this, it's simple to use an ambush strategy with Shadow Blade and Air Shooter. Know all the ways around the map and you can surprise anyone. Avoid more prolonged conflicts or scare your foes away with the Hard Knuckle. If all else fails, spamming Gemini Laser is bound to get some frags!

It is also in your benefit to keep the oil burning to prevent your enemies from grabbing E-Tanks and to toast them when they back away in the wrong spot. Know where they are yourself and stay out of them at all costs!
