Bubble Man's Stage is a completely submerged maze located in the heart of a dam. Like any Mega Man water stage, your jumps become higher and you fall slower here. Of course this means, spikes, a staple of aquatic stages, are scattered liberally on the walls of the stage. Like in Mega Man 2, any contact with them will kill you instantly regardless of your health. Because of its lack of distinct landmarks and multiple duplicate weapon drops, it is also very easy to get lost in this stage's hallways. Weapons here are mostly water-themed or have sharp edges, a possible reference to bubbles and popping them.

Layout

The labyrinthine hallways of Bubble Man's stage are actually a simple lattice that defines nine open chambers with bottomless pits in a 3x3 grid. The only pits that are connected by the absence of a walkway are the southwest chasm and the one directly north of it. While the walkways wind all around the map, elevation differences between them prevent you from taking certain turns. The spikes around certain intersections will certainly discourage you as well!

Weapons are distributed at the intersection points of the lattice's lines. From north to south, Dust Crusher, Air Shooter, Silver Tomahawk and Needle Cannon are found on the map's east edge. The next column to the west holds Water Balloon, Danger Wrap, Bubble Lead and Slash Claw, also from north to south. This weapon layout on the western half is a mirror image of the eastern half, but otherwise identical except for the absence of Needle Cannon. An M-Tank is found on a low pillar in the center of the southeastern pit while a ring of spikes guards Rush Jet on a higher pillar in the northeastern pit.

Bubblemanyashichi

Bubbleman's Yashichi is located directly above the Dr. Wily logo in the northwestern corner of the map where Needle Cannon would be

Strategy

Bubble Man's stage is based on the idea of combat in corridors. Because there is almost no room to dodge anything, it's better to use the powerful Dust Crusher and Silver Tomahawk rather than to rely on the rapid fire Water Balloon and Needle Cannon to finish foes before they can finish you. While Slash Claw and Air Shooter are fine for ambushes, don't expect to frag an foe alert to your presence with them. Bubble Lead can flood the walkways with undodgeable bubbles, but you'll have to have plenty of room to use it because of its buoyant properties when underwater.

Above all, rely on surprise and don't chase after a foe who has fled to a different level of a walkway. Remember that you can shoot through the netting surrounding half of the walkways and feel free to take shortcuts by jumping straight over the pits. Finally, avoid getting the Rush Jet. You're likely to be shot down on the pillar for a nominal reward.
